THANKSGIVING FOOD GIVEAWAY: SERVING HOPE ON THE SOUTH SIDE

When we say “We’re building up the neighborhood”, this is exactly what we mean.

Every year, Project H.O.O.D. and New Beginnings Church of Chicago partner to make Thanksgiving a little brighter for hundreds of families across the South Side. And this year, the love continues.

THE EVENT

Join us on Sunday, November 23rd at 10:00AM for our annual Thanksgiving Food Giveaway, right here at 6620 S. King Drive, Chicago, IL.

This event is all about giving back. Families can simply drive up, pop their trunk, and we’ll fill it up with groceries, fresh produce, and Thanksgiving essentials — no questions asked.

It’s simple. It’s personal. It’s powerful. Because no one in our community should have to face the holidays empty-handed.

WHY WE DO IT

At Project H.O.O.D., we believe real change starts with showing up — heart first.

Food insecurity is still a daily reality for many Chicago families, and while we continue our work through job training, mentorship, and economic development, this giveaway meets an immediate need: making sure everyone gets to gather around the table this season.

This isn’t just about meals — it’s about dignity, care, and connection. When we serve others, we serve hope.

HOW YOU CAN HELP

Even if you’re not in need of food, there’s still a way to get involved.

  • Volunteer: Help load cars, pack boxes, or greet families with a smile.

  • Donate: Every dollar helps us reach one more household.

  • Spread the word: Share this event with someone who could use a little extra help this season.

Together, we’re not just feeding people — we’re strengthening families.
