Chicago's Probation Department partners with Project HOOD to provide mentoring. The youth that are referred are court involved. The purpose is to help reduce the likelihood of the minor
being detained. The program is designed to keep the alleged and convicted delinquent
juveniles in their homes and community. We seek to provide juvenile court involved youth
with intentional mentoring and space to discover the power of “the choice” and the
possibility of change.

This program includes:

  • 8-week “Team Building” sessions with Chicago Adventure Therapy – the youth will experience kayaking and rock climbing

  • 10-week Culinary Arts class

  • 6-week Job Readiness

  • Summer employment

  • 8-week female mentoring program
