On Monday, December 12, 2016 at the Standard Club, ProjectHOOD hosted an award luncheon, with Governor Bruce Rauner as the featured speaker, to honor the work and support of some of our greatest partners.
The award recipients for their outstanding support of ProjectHOOD were Metro Ford Owner Patrick Milligan, Sr., Debtstoppers Senior Partner Robert J. Semrad, State Senator and Chairman of Oberweis Dairy, Inc., Jim Oberweis, and Walgreens Regional Vice President John Grant.
All shared warm stories of their involvement with Pastor Corey B. Brooks and ProjectHOOD and urged attendees to increase their engagement and connection to the programs.
ProjectHOOD is excited to start a new program in partnership with Jerry Rich and The Kids Golf Foundation. Keith Rich spoke on behalf of Jerry Rich and the purpose of the program will be to introduce youth from Woodlawn to golf. This furthers ProjectHOOD’s mission of providing opportunity and alternatives to the violence on the streets.
We are also working to expand our mentoring programs with our partners Pat Milligan. Sr., Senator Jim Oberweis, Robert J. Semrad, and Walgreens. Our programs are designed to foster entrepreneurship and leadership in youth.

ProjectHOOD is also beginning a capital campaign called Operation Transformation. The purpose of this campaign is to raise the funds needed to expand the programming of ProjectHOOD and to build a community center in Woodlawn. Contributions and participation in this event went directly to Operation Transformation.
ProjectHOOD will host our next Award Luncheon at the end of the year. Be sure to sign up on our email list to receive important updates.
