Arctic2019: The Explorer’s Passage, 12 Days!
Project H.O.O.D. has a wonderful opportunity for four healthy and passionate young adults, 2 males and 2 females, between the ages of 21 and 25 to travel to Norway, Oslo from June 15, 2019 to June 26, 2019. There will be nearly 100 young adults representing 25 nations who are enthusiastic about succeeding in life!
This opportunity is brought to us by Robert Swan and his son Barney Swan. Robert is one of the world’s greatest living explorers, and the first person to walk to both the North and South Poles. He has been featured on NASA, Ted Talks, National Geographic, The Wall Street Journal and many other publications.
Barney Swan is the first person in history to walk to the South Pole, powered entirely by renewable energy. Barney visited Project H.O.O.D. and was impressed with our work and Executive Director Pastor Corey B. Brooks. It is because of this visit that we are afforded this magnificent adventure.
On this once-in-a-lifetime excursion, you will:
Observe the massive icebergs and glaciers on Zodiac boats and view the abundance of Arctic wildlife including whales, puffins, and seals.
Make landing and set foot on the pristine landscape of the Arctic.
Explore the magnificent Arctic as you hike up coast lines.
Witness polar bears playing on the ice sheets as you contemplate the delicacy of this ecosystem.
Feel the exhilaration as you leap into the sub-freezing waters during the famous Polar Plunge.
Attend workshops on leadership, public speaking and the environment
