Hoops in the Hood

Project H.O.O.D. Partners with LISC for Community Basketball

This year, Project H.O.O.D. was selected as a community partner with LISC to offer community basketball in Woodlawn. Five games took place at the "blacktop" across the street from New Beginnings Church at 6620 S. King Drive in Chicago.

Hoops in the Hood is an initiative by LISC as a community engagement tool to take back the streets from violence. Partners are strategically selected in some of the worst neighborhoods and works to bring healthy competition and comradery through sports.

This is the 11th annual Hoops in the Hood series and each year the competition ends with a cross-city tournament.
